Corrosol – UV cured GRP

GRP – Glass Reinforced Plastic is a single component material that combines a high chemical resistance with excellent abrasion resistance and exceptional durability. GRP is a combination of glass fibers embedded in polyester or vinyl ester resin to reinforce. It is commonly used as non-metallic cladding and GRP insulation cladding in the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy and other industries.

Corrosol – UV curing GRP

Corrosol a brand offered by Corrotech Construction Chemicals, a construction chemicals manufacturer, is a fiberglass-reinforced polyester or vinyl ester based GRP watertight cladding system solution. In its uncured state, the product is soft and malleable and able to follow any substrate shape. Corrosol contains resins, fiberglass and special fillers and is ready to use, no mixing is needed. Moreover, Corrosol can also be cut or trimmed into a variety of shapes which makes it easy to apply to the insulation. The polyester subsequently cures under the influence of  UV light. After curing, Corrosol is hard, resistant, watertight and offers optimal mechanical protection. Once cured, the product has an extremely high level of stability and mechanical strength compared to conventional polyester. In addition, Corrosol UV cured GRP is impermeable and resistant to a variety of chemicals.

Corrosol is also an ideal solution for making insulation protection around pipes, storage tanks, installations, class divisions, etc. It is also recommended in the food & pharmaceutical industry, as tank top insulation and in the petrochemical industry.

Corrosol Strength:

  • Corrosol provides excellent seamless protection as it forms smooth connections and sealed overlaps that offer a watertight protection to the insulation underneath. It lessens the damaging effects of the weather (wind, rain, seawater, etc.) or general wear and tear.
  • Corrosol is relatively easy to clean and can withstand spray-cleaning. Cleaning with water is possible without damaging the insulation.
  • Corrosol has also a low start-up cost since the processing and installation takes place on location.
  • Corrosol offers flexibility. It can be used in cold and hot insulation, underground and above ground cables and pipes, on and offshore.
